ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> January 5 , 1982 <br /> All current as well as newly elected members of the City Council and <br /> retiring Mayor , Sally Haik, .were present for the swearing in cere- <br /> monies conducted before approximately. 25 spectators at 7 :00 P .M. <br /> Carol Johnson, City Clerk, administered the,e-ath of office to Mayor <br /> Robert Sundland and Councilmen Clarence''Ranallo and Richard Enrooth. <br /> The Mayor addressed the group telling them heviews the office of <br /> Mayor as a public servant and, therefore, will- do his utmost to <br /> satisfy the concerns of as many of the City residents as possible . <br /> In spite of the many budget problems. related to State shortfalls , he <br /> will attempt to maintain the existing level of services to the <br /> community . <br /> Coffee and cake were served during the informal discussion period <br /> which followed, which was concluded with the recitation of the Pledge <br /> of Allegiance and presentation of a Minnesota state flag by five <br /> members of the American Legion Post 513 , led by Len Bisanti . <br /> The Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Sundland at 8 :00 P .M. <br /> Present for roll call : Letourneau, Ranallo, Sundland, Enrooth and <br /> • Marks . <br /> Also present : Dave Childs , City Manager; Ron Berg , Administrative <br /> Assistant; William Soth , City Attorney , and Mrs . <br /> Johnson, Clerk/Treasurer. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> approve as submitted the minutes o.f the Council meeting held December <br /> 8 , 1981. <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Letourneau <br /> to grant a heating license to the Palen Kimball Company . <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to <br /> approve payments of all verified claims listed in the January 5 , <br /> 1982 Council agenda as well as $5 ,681 . 88 to Short-Elliott-Hendrickson , <br /> Inc. for engineering services on the City.'s sanitary sewer diversion <br /> to Minneapolis and $3 , 322 .96 to Planning Design & Research Engineers <br /> for the infiltration/inflow analysis . <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • Brad Bjorklund of the Planning Commission reported actions taken and <br /> recommendations made to the Council and staff by the Commission as <br /> reflected in the minutes of their meeting held December 15 , 1981 . <br />
