He cited his own <br /> cooperation with getting the semaphor installed near the bank on <br /> Stinson and with providing water and sewer to that building and <br /> told of his attempts to get the appearance of the Champion Auto <br /> Store on Stinson and 37th improved as requested by the City Council. <br /> The Alderman reported he was somewhat surprised that he had not <br /> been notified that an all night operation was being permitted to <br /> operate so close to the Minneapolis- boundary line. <br /> • The Mayor said he is very conscious that "deteriorating shopping <br /> centers do attract objectionable business but reminded the Alder- <br /> man that many of St. Anthony 's ordinances are fashioned after <br /> Minneapolis ' . He said the Minneapolis officials comments would not <br /> go unnoted and "the Council is particularly aware of the police <br /> viewpoint" . Gerber' said she is a .resident of what is known as the Stinson <br /> triangle , comprising Lowry , Wilson, Harding and Stinson, where there <br /> is very easy access to the shopping center. She reported problems <br /> with bikes, motorcycles , etc. traffic going to and from the center <br /> and said the neighborhood had just succeeded in cutting down the <br /> burglary instances by forming block clubs and are now shocked to <br /> find out a new source of problems is being permitted to operate <br /> almost in their backyards . She believes the residents in her area <br /> are "sitting ducks" and questioned why. such an element is invited <br /> to come into the area which was a wholesome, family oriented com- <br /> munity long before the City ordinance was formed to permit billiard <br /> halls and wondered "what . laws are there to protect the residents?" <br /> Diane Glodek, 2235 Wilson Street N.E. , also a.
