ANTHONY <br /> •� COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> January 11, 1983 <br /> Piayor Sundland opened the. meeting. with the Pledge of Allegiance at <br /> 7 : 30 P.M. <br /> Present for roll call : Marks , Ranallo, Sundland, Letourneau, and <br /> Enrooth. <br /> Also present.: David Childs , City Manager; William .Soth, City Attorney; <br /> Carol Johnson, Finance Director. <br /> Councilman Marks requested. that the word "wondered" in Line 2 of Para- <br /> graph 5 , Page 2 of the December 14th minutes be changed to "asked" . <br /> Motion by Counci-lman Marks and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> approve as amended the minutes for the Council meeting held December <br /> 14', 1982 . <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman ' Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> approve the December 31 , 1982 verified claims- listed in the January <br /> 11 , 1983 .Council agenda. <br /> • Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Mayor noted that the City 's $2, 000 contribution towards payment of <br /> the remaining debts of the North Suburban Cable Communications Com- <br /> mission would be made from the- $15 ,000 in start up expense money <br /> refunded :the City by Group W. <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to <br /> approve payment of $2 ,000 to the North Suburban Cable Communication <br /> Commission as requested by the Commission' s legal consultant Dec- <br /> ember 17 , 1982. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Mayor reported his attendance January 6th at the Association of <br /> Metropolitan Municipalities. Board of Directors meeting where the state <br /> aid formulas were discussed at great length with state officials and <br /> at which the Board had passed a resolution to be sent to the State <br /> Legislature and League of Minnesota . Cities indicating the A.M.M. <br /> finds the state aid formula as presented "impossible to understand <br /> and one which the A.M.M. is not at all certain would be equitable <br /> distributed" . Mayor Sundland said the Board had recommended that, <br /> instead, the whole state aid process be junked and developed anew <br /> before the 1985 session. <br /> ( •� Mayor Sundland then indicated how pleased he was to learn that Mr. <br /> Childs and Chief Entner were among the 30 such municipal Manager/Fire <br /> Chief teams from the entire country who had been selected to participate <br />
