-3- Councilman Marks reported the Augustana group who intend to apply for 202 funding for the senior housing in Phase 2 'of the Kenzie Terrace ', •: Redevelopment Project had asked during their. -meeting with. City of- ficials the previous day. whether the funds proposed .to be allocated for the rehabilitation of low income/single family residences could be used instead as a down payment- but had been told .these funds could only be used towards the acquisition of land for the project. Mr. Bjorklund read the two motions-from the minutes of the Planning Commission' s March 15th meeting which supported the staff recommenda- tions for allocating Year IX funds and reallocating Years VI , VII , and VIII funds -in such a manner that they could be retained by the City. No further public . input forthcoming, . the hearing was closed at 8: 45 P .M. Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman. Letourneau to follow the Planning Commission recommendations to allocate the City 's Year IX Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant funds for the following activities : Rehabilitation- of Single Family Homes $40 ,000 Public�Services-Senior Citizens Programs. 4 , 656 Administration 1 ,904 $46 ,560 The Council finds, as did the Commission, that. these activities are ' :• consistent with. past uses of .these funds and would appear to meet all the criteria set- for such activities by the. Housing and .Urban Develop- ment Agency and. Hennepin County, and further agreeing that there had been adequate notice and public. input related to the selection of the activities to be funded. Motion carried. unanimously.
