He said. the only -negative feedback
he had received had to do with the reconstruction of 37th Avenue N.E.
where the County ' s failure to communicate with the residents along
3.7th. Avenue had raised unnecessary concerns about the project. As
an example, h.e noted that- .when the surveyors had placed the grade
sticks. up on, lawns , and even: between the houses, without explaining
their purpose, many homeowners had misconstrued this to mean the road
• was going to be constructed .up that far. The Mayor recalled a similar
incident on Highway 88 when an elderly resident had become alarmed
that her home was going to be taken for the new roadway. It was
agreed that the Public Works Director should continue to pressure the
county to improve their communication with those residents whose
homes would be the most affected by the rebuilding of 37th Avenue.
Councilman. Village Shopping Center. The -question was raised whether
the new SAV logo for that warehouse operation might add to the con-
fusion. _ As a related item, the Manager drew the Council 's attention
to the September liquor operation summary- which he perceives supports
his contention that there had been .an erosion of Stonehouse revenues
with the opening of a new liquor store on Central Avenue.
Mr. Childs. drew Councilman. Marks ' .attention to the change of meeting
dates for the Chemical Abuse Information as reflected in the Commit-
tee"s October llth. minutes , which he said had resulted from his own
request that Committee meeting' ,dates be scheduled so asnot to con-
flict with. Council meetings so Councilman Marks could attend their
meetings ..
• As the Council had requested,. Mr. Childs had made copies of all docu-
ments relating to the City's ordinance. dealing with the hours of
operation for recreational establishments and this data as well as the
