Enrooth to authorize staff to <br /> • advertise for bids to reroof the City underground storage reservoir, based on <br /> Mr. Hamer's specifications, to be taken until 2:00 PA.` --August 271, -1984, with <br /> Council consideration to be scheduled during their meeting- the following evening, <br /> August 28th. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> In his August 14th memorandum, Mr. Hamer had explained that the field adjustments <br /> to the pipe alignment for the Roseville water connection had cost $6,705, which <br /> would be offset by .the City not having to get a water meter, which had been expected <br /> to cost $7,349, which, instead, St. Paul is lending to the City free .of charge.. <br /> This would result in a saving of $734, as reflected in Change Order #1 . . <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Makowske to approve Change <br /> Order #1 for $734 as proposed by staff, for the Roseville water connection project. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Councilman Ranallo corrected the spelling of Helen Glotzback's name on the listing <br /> of judges submitted by Carol Johnson for the September ll ,, - 1984 Primary Election <br /> and made the motion that the listing be accepted as corrected. His motion was <br /> seconded by Mayor Sundland and passed unanimously. <br /> The Manager indicated .the amended Uniform_ Fire Code of the City Ordinance included <br /> in the agenda packet. had been reviewed by the City Attorney. PREVENTION: AMENDING <br /> SECTION 350 OF THE 1973 CODE OF ORDINANCES <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Robert Slick, 3400 Buchanan Street N.E. , proprietor of the Alternative in the <br /> St. Anthony Shopping Center, appeared before the Council to request he be permitted <br /> to keep his establishment open 24 hours over Labor Day during the time he is sponsor- <br /> ing a fundraiser in conjunction with the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon <br /> that weekend. All proceeds would be turned over td the charitable organization, <br /> Mr. Slick said, since all beverages. to be sold and prizes to be awarded had been <br /> donated. Seven bands have donated their time to play that evening for two hour <br /> intervals and several organizations are sponsoring dance contests for which they <br /> would be playing. Radio Station KRSI would be broadcasting from the non-alcoholic <br /> bar and WTCN-TV would also be televising from that location at various times during <br /> their telethon. <br /> When Councilman Ranallo and Mayor Sundland both indicated they would hate to see <br /> • Mr. Slick jeopardize the good relations he has managed to keep with the neighbors <br /> up to this point, the establishment owner told them he planned to contact each of <br /> the residents who live near his facility, including those in Minneapolis, to secure <br />
