• CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> - September 10, 1985 <br /> The meeting was opened at 7:30 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor <br /> Sundland. <br /> Present for roll call : Sundland, Marks, Ranallo, Enrooth, and Makowske. <br /> Also present: David Childs, City Manager. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Marks and seconded by Councilmember .Enrooth to approve as <br /> submitted the minutes of the Council meeting held August 27, 1985. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Marks and seconded by Councilmember Makowske -to grant the <br /> following licenses as listed in the September 10,. 1985 Council .agenda packet: <br /> Contractor <br /> Bor-Son Building Corporation, Minneapolis <br /> Corco .Construct_ion Co. , Inc. , Plymouth. <br /> • Heating <br /> Guaranty Heating Co. <br /> Riccar Heating. <br /> Motion carried unanii0usly.. . <br /> Motion by Councilmember Marks and seconded by Councilmember Ran Klo to approve pay- <br /> ment of all verified claims listed for August 31 and September 10, 1985 in the Sept- <br /> ember 10, 1985 Council agenda packet. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Manager answered several questions relating ,to the billings from Dorsey & Whitney. . <br /> and Briggs ,& Morgan l.aw firms. He explained that the reference in .the City Attorney's <br /> statement to the Teamster's "suit pertained to the union's filing for declaratory. <br /> .judgement, challenging the City'-s residency requirement, which Mr. Soth had indicated <br /> he anticipated he could easily handle. The Manager said he anticipated the Briggs <br /> & Morgan fees would stay well within the approximate , $5,000 they 'had estimated as <br /> costs when they agreed to represent the City and to initiate legal- action by the City <br /> in regard to the U.S. Army and others roles in the City's water contamination problems. <br /> The only exception might be .if the Army entered into extensive "discovery" actions. <br /> Copies of the proposed resolution authorizing the legal, consultants to file a notice <br /> of intent to file a suit against the Army had been distributed prior to the meeting <br /> and the matter was accepted as an agenda addendum under the City Manager's reports. <br /> • Motion by Councilmember Marks and seconded by Councilmember Makowske to approve pay- <br /> ments of the following as. listed in the September 10, 1985 Council agenda packet: <br />
