• -8- <br /> In regard to the City' s water contamination problems, Councilmember <br /> Marks reported meeting with both Congressmen Vento and Sabo as well as <br /> Senator Boschwitz on the last day he was in Washington. <br /> DEPARTMENT AND COMMITTEE <br /> The following were noted briefly and orderd filed as informational: <br /> *City Prosecutor' s report on matters conducted at the Hennepin <br /> County District Court on February 8 , 1987 ; <br /> *February Fire Department Report. <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> March 4 , 1987 Staff Meeting Notes <br /> The Council had no questions about this report and it was ordered filed. <br /> City to Get Half of Sale Proceeds for Unused Property at 37th and Silver <br /> Lake Road <br /> • In its March 2nd letter to Larry Hamer, the Hennepin County Department <br /> of Transportation had informed the City that the portion of land which <br /> remained after the 37th Avenue Reconstruction Project would be put up <br /> for sale now that the project had been completed. Mr. Childs indicated <br /> sealed bids would be taken for the property and St. Anthony would be <br /> getting half of the proceeds. <br /> Certificate of Appreciation to be Given Officer Puffer <br /> The Manager indicated he certainly agreed with Chief Hickerson' s <br /> February 27th recommendation that Officer Richard Puffer deserved a <br /> Certificate of Appreciation/Commendation for his 30 years of service to <br /> the City. <br /> Council Action <br /> Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Marks to request staff to prepare a <br /> Certificate of Appreciation to be presented to Officer Richard W. Puffer <br /> at his retirement party, March 28th. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Additional Newsletters to be Issued <br /> At the request of the Council, staff had prepared an estimate of the <br /> high and low costs for preparing a special Newsletter. Mr. Childs ' <br /> estimates had been based on staff ' s own experience preparing the <br /> Newsletter which went out with the water bills. The costs ranged from <br />
