Tabled <br /> 4 Commissioner London indicated the above action was taken in order that <br /> 5 questions about the ownership of the lot in question, which was in <br /> 6 probate, could be cleared up. He also pointed out that, as reported in <br /> 7 the minutes, there had been a good deal of opposition to the proposal <br /> 8 from the neighbors. <br /> 9 Council Approves Salvation Army Picnic Shelter <br /> 10 Application: for the above in a Recreational/Open Space zoned area <br /> 11 which requires reviewal by both the Planning Commission <br /> 12 and Council. <br /> 13 Commission <br /> 14 recommendation: approval. <br /> 15 Council Action <br /> 16 Motion by Enrooth, seconded by Marks to accept the Planning Commission <br /> 17 recommendation that the plans for the picnic shelter proposed for the <br /> 18 Salvation Army Camp be approved based on the information related to the <br /> 19 construction and location of the shelter which had been provided in the <br /> •20 Council' s June 23 , 1987 agenda packet. <br /> 21 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 22 This had been Commissioner London' s first appearance before the Council <br /> 23 since he had been appointed to the Planning Commission and the Mayor <br /> 24 thanked him for his report. <br /> 25 COUNCIL <br /> 26 Makowske Pleased to Find City Already Had an Ordinance Forbidding <br /> 27 Barbecues on Balconies <br /> 28 The Councilmember indicated it had been her inquiries to staff which had <br /> 29 resulted in copies of the above Ordinance being provided each <br /> 30 Councilmember. <br /> 31 Congressman Sabo Continuing to Monitor Actions Related to St. Anthony' s <br /> 32 Water Contamination Problems <br /> 33 Councilmember Makowske said she had learned the above at a reception for <br /> 34 the Congressman she had attended recently and indicated she perceived <br /> 35 his continued interest in the issue could be nothing but beneficial for <br /> 36 the City. <br /> • <br />
