Regular Council fleeting <br /> November 14, 1989 <br /> • page 4 ' <br /> 1 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Rana] lo gave a status report on the Village Fest Committee. He noted that <br /> 4 the City Attorney is presently formulating by-laws for the Committee. There <br /> 5 was limited attendance at the November 15th meeting of the Committee. Two <br /> 6 meetings are scheduled, December 11th and January 8th. At the January 8th <br /> 7 meeting a Board of Directors will be elected. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Proclamation - AmP.ri-can Education Week <br /> 10 Mayor Pro Tem Rana] lo read a proclamation- designating the week of <br /> 11 November 12 - 18, 1989 as AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK in the City of St. <br /> 12 Anthony. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve the proclamation. <br /> 15 <br /> 15 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 17 <br /> 18 B. Departments and Committees <br /> 19 <br /> 20 1 . Hance & LeVahn: Re: Matters conducted at the Hennepin County District <br /> 21 Court up to and including October 4, 1989 and October 18, 198; <br /> • 22 <br /> �3 Marks inquired how courts monitored Project Learn I as well as other <br /> 24 court appearances, satisfaction of fines and sentences imposed. The <br /> 25 Police Chief responded that much of the monitoring was done by computer. <br /> Y6 This monitoring is most efficiently and effectively done primarily in <br /> 27 the metro area. <br /> 28 <br /> �9 2. Fire Department Monthly Report - October, 1989 <br /> 30 There was no discussion regarding the report .. The report was filed. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 3• Police Reserves Monthly Report - September, 1989, <br /> 33 Marks requested the Police Chief to cite some of the specific duties of <br /> 34 the Police Reserves. He was advised that they ride along during patrols, <br /> 35 do foot patrols, assist in medical calls and serve at school activities. <br /> 36 It was noted that the City supplies the uniforms for the Police Reserves. <br /> 37 There are no fees for the services they supply but donations are accepted. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 4. Liquor Operations Sales Summary - October, 1989 <br /> 40 There was no discussion regarding this report. The report was filed. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 C. Acting City Manager <br /> 43 <br /> 44 The Council received copies of the November 1 , 1939 Staff Meeting report. <br /> 45 There were no questions. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Sue VanderHeyden, Assistant to the City. Manager, also welcomed the new City Manager. <br /> 48 . <br /> 49 7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 50 There were no public hearings. <br />
