1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> JULY 30, 1991 <br /> PAGE 8 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Mayor Ranailo thanked the representative& of the Youth Services <br /> 7 Bureau for their taking the time to attend the Council Pleating. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 7. REPORTS <br /> 10 <br /> 11 A. Report of Councilmember Fleming <br /> 12 Councilmember Flexing noted that there is a School Board <br /> 13 Meeting on August 6th which is the some night as the <br /> 14 National Might Out is being observed. <br /> 15 - <br /> 16 B. Report of Councilmember Wagner <br /> 17 Councilmember Wagner had nothing further to report as he had <br /> 18 given a report on the Special Olympics. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 C. Report of Councilmember Enrooth <br /> 21 Councilmember Enrooth recently returned from Edmonton where <br /> 22 the Edmonton Mall is located. This mall was built and is <br /> 23 operated by the same developer who is building the Mall of <br /> 24 America in Bloomington. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Councilmember Enrooth noted that the Edmonton Mall is seven <br /> million dollars behind in its taxes and the City is <br /> considering taking over the operation of the Mall. The Mall <br /> 29 has seven hundred shops under one roof. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 The Village. Feat has had no recent meeting and it appears <br /> 32 most of the plans are in place. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 The Mayor noted that the Firster Bank of St. Anthony donated <br /> 35 6500.00 to the Village Feat. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 D. Report of Councilmember Marks <br /> 38 Councilmember Marks is preparing for a trip to Salo, Finland <br /> 39 with members of the City'& Orchestra. They will leave on <br /> 40 August 14th. He plans to continue on and travel to Russia. <br /> 41 He requested to take a picture of the Council at the and of <br /> 42 this meeting to present to the City leaders in Salo. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 E.. Report of Mayor Renallo <br /> 45 The Mayor reported that Joe Spielman won an award from the <br /> 46 Board on Aging . He requested that this individual be invited <br /> 47 to attend a future Council meeting. Speilman i& in sixth <br /> 48 grade. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 The Mayor chaired the first meeting of the League of <br /> 51 Minnesota Cities' Federal Legislation- Committee. He noted <br /> 52 that some of the items discussed were of importance to St. <br /> �3 Anthony . Among the items was the National League of Cities' <br /> 4 health care policy which the Mayor felt paralleled <br />
