Anthony <br /> 11 Park State Bank had been duplicated in the agenda packet and <br /> 12 the City Manager discussed possible effects of the action on <br /> 13 the Stonehouse operation. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Marks to approve the Letter of <br /> 16 Intent to purchase restaurant equipment from Mannings <br /> 17 Restaurant as presented. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 VII PUBLIC HEARINGS - NONE <br /> 22 <br /> 23 X UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> 24 <br /> 25 A. Approva.l. of Ramsey County' s Reconstruction of Silver <br /> 26 Lake Road <br /> • 27 <br /> 28 Mr. Burt reported expressing to New Brighton officials St. <br /> 29 Anthony' s concerns about reconstructing the roadway to <br /> 30 anything_, less than four lanes because of anticipated increases <br /> 31 of business at Apache Plaza. The Manager indicated he had <br /> 32 pointed out the City' s fears that the vehicular turning <br /> 33 accidents already being experienced on that roadway would only <br /> 34 be increased with sharp traffic count increases which will <br /> 35 surely follow from the type of businesses being considered for <br /> 36 Apache and all the new construction along New Brighton's <br /> 37 section of Silver Lake Road. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Councilmember Marks reiterated that he personally always <br /> 40 philosophically opposed increasing traffic through residential <br /> 41 areas but from the standpoint of supporting Apache Plaza had <br /> 42 come to accept that a four lane roadway was the only design <br /> 43 the City could support. The other Councilmembers agreed that <br /> 44 providing vehicular safety at intersections called for an <br /> 45 upgrading of the existing roadway with no changes in actual <br /> 46 road width except for turning lanes at intersections. St. <br /> 47 Anthony had already suffered similar intersection changes with <br /> 48 the upgrading of County Road D. It was also noted that the <br /> 49 reconstruction would be paid from federal monies in this <br /> 50 case. <br /> 51 <br /> 52 Motion by' Enrooth, seconded by Fleming to approve the Ramsey <br /> 53 County reconstruction of Silver Lake Road as presented with <br /> 54 recognition that construction of a sidewalk on the west side <br /> 55 will depend on water flow approval by other governmental <br /> 56 agencies . <br /> 57 <br /> 58 Motion carried unanimously. <br />
