• 1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 2 MAY 25, 1993 <br /> 3 PAGE 7 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to open the Public Hearing <br /> 7 at 8 : 20 p.m. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The project to be discussed at this Public Hearing is a <br /> 12 bituminous overlay improvement over the existing pavement on <br /> 13 Rankin Road from Old Highway #8 to 32nd Avenue and Croft Drive <br /> 14 from 31st Avenue to 200 feet along 32nd Avenue beyond the cul- <br /> 15 de-sac . <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Mr. Madigan reviewed the project area. The costs will be paid <br /> 18 on a fifty-fifty basis between the City and the benefited <br /> 19 property owners. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 On Croft Drive the average lot has an eighty-seven front foot <br /> 22 and the assessment is proposed at $3.. 19 per assessable foot . <br /> 23 On the Rankin Road overlay project the average lot has a <br /> 24 sixty-two front footage and the assessment is proposed at <br /> 25 $4 . 16 per assessable foot . <br /> 26 <br /> 0,7 There were no questions from residents in attendance . <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Motion by Wagner, second by Enrooth to close the Public <br /> 30 Hearing at 8 :26 p.m. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 33 <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve the two projects <br /> 36 as presented at the public hearings. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Councilmember Marks stated that the City Council is <br /> 39 responsible for making decisions regarding improvements . He <br /> 40 feels these decisions are made based on very reliable <br /> 41 information such as the data received from Braun Intertec and <br /> 42 from Maier Stewart and Associates. He agrees that the <br /> 43 improvements being proposed would give the property owner the <br /> 44 highest value for his/her money. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Councilmember Wagner agreed that the information received from <br /> 47 the professional engineers and consultants is very reliable <br /> 48 and supportive of the projects going forth. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 <br /> • <br />
