Report of Councilmember Wagner <br /> 8 Councilmember Wagner attended the Youth Luncheon at <br /> 9 Nativity Church. There were forty-five people in <br /> 10 attendance . He felt the speakers were excellent and the <br /> 11 roundtable discussions were very good. The focus of the <br /> 12 topic was to evaluate what can be done and what needs to <br /> 13 be done for youth, <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Councilmember Wagner also attended a meeting where the <br /> 16 future of the Community Center was the topic for <br /> 17 discussion. Community Services and the School Board <br /> 18 representative were requested to obtain figures for their <br /> 19 needs . He will get figures from the City and from the <br /> 20 Police Department . <br /> 21 <br /> 22 It was noted that the City of New Brighton is planning a <br /> much larger building than is being considered for St . <br /> 4 Anthony. Nearly 77, 000 square feet are being constructed <br /> 25 with some as rental units and the costs will be about <br /> 26 four million dollars. This building is shared by the City <br /> 27 and the School Board who share a contract for it . <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Mayor Ranallo felt the St . Anthony building should be a <br /> 30 "no frills" facility. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 2 . Report of Councilmember Fleming <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Councilmember Fleming also attended the Community <br /> 35 Services Meeting which focused on youth. She felt that <br /> 36 Peter Benson from the Search Institute made a very good <br /> 37 presentation and it was two hours well spent . <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Councilmember Fleming attended the Association of <br /> 40 Metropolitan Municipalities . She also met with Jim <br /> 41 Brimeyer of the Brimeyer Group whose services have been <br /> 42 employed to conduct the City Manager search. <br /> 43 <br /> Councilmember Fleming felt the turnout at the school <br /> IK meeting at Wilshire School was very good. There will be <br /> 46 a referendum for the $4 . 7 needed by the School District . <br /> 47 <br /> 48 <br />
