City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • February 28, 1995 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Motion by Wagner, second by Fleming to approve a temporary 3.2 beer permit to Ms. Lori Rupp <br /> 2 LaFleur, Central Park, Block Party, July 22, 1995 and, also, to approve a 3.2 beer permit to Stop 'N' Go, <br /> 3 37th and Stinson Boulevard. <br /> 4 Voting on the motion: <br /> 5 Aye: Ranallo, Enrooth, Fleming, Wagner <br /> 6 Nay: Marks <br /> 7 Motion carried. <br /> 8 VI. PRESENTATION OF CLAIMS. <br /> 9 Motion by Marks, second by Ranallo to approve the following claims: <br /> 10 A. Ancom Communication. Inc.. in the amount of$5,754.56 for monitor equipment for St. <br /> 11 Anthony Fire Department. <br /> 12 B. 5 pages of Verified Claims as presented by the Finance Director. <br /> 13 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> �4 VII. REPORTS. <br /> 15 A. Mayor. <br /> 16 Mayor Ranallo asked if the council had any changes to be made to the proposed volunteer <br /> 17 dinner list enclosed in their packet. Council consensus was reached to accept the list and <br /> 18 City Manager was so informed. <br /> 19 B. Council, <br /> 20 Wagner indicated that Winterfest was proceeding well. He explained the activities would <br /> 21 include golf, a milk carton sled race, ice sculptures, sleigh rides, and a hockey shootout <br /> 22 with prizes for all the events. There will also be hot cocoa and candy bars available. He <br /> 23 stated they are expecting approximately 200 children and parents to attend. <br /> 24 Fleming reported her attendance at the Library Meeting. She reminded the <br /> 25 councilmembers of the annual May book sale which will be held on May 6, 1995. She <br /> 26 explained that National Library week will be April 9th through the 15th. She stated that <br /> 27 as part of the National Library Week, Microsoft Corporation is offering one free CD Rom <br /> 28 version of the encyclopedia to any library who submits 25 or more 100 word essays <br /> 29 describing how the library has changed their life. These essays have to be submitted prior <br /> 30 to June 1, 1995. <br /> 31Fleming reported her attendance at the first meeting of the Improving Community Life <br /> 02 Committee. She reported the committees goal is to fmd ways to enable cities to become <br /> 33 livable communities. She stated that Ann Higgins, League of Minnesota Cities gave an <br /> 34 informative legislative update on education and the impact in regard to the increase in <br />
