City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • April 11, 1995 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Enrooth reported that the planning of Villagefest was progressing well. He indicated they <br /> 2 have hired a band for the one day event. There is a meeting scheduled for April 27, 1995 <br /> 3 and there are two positions on the committee remaining to be filled. <br /> 4 Enrooth reported he and George Wagner had attended a meeting with the Sports Boosters <br /> 5 last Sunday in regards to the gym in the proposed Community Center. He indicated they <br /> 6 discussed the size and type of gym they would like to have. He stated he has since met <br /> 7 with City Manager Mornson regarding the figures and will now meet again with the <br /> 8 Sports Boosters to propose those figures. <br /> 9 Mayor Ranallo indicated he and City Manager had met with the School Board. He <br /> 10 indicated that due to the legislative adjournment in May, they hoped to have everything <br /> 11 prepared and ready by June 1, 1995. <br /> 12 Ranallo also reported a new restaurant, The Dragon, will be opening in the St. Anthony <br /> 13 Shopping Center on May 1, 1995. <br /> 14 Ranallo stated the St. Anthony Volunteer Appreciation Dinner will be held on April 20, <br /> 165 1995. He urged any councilmembers who had not yet confirmed their attendance to <br /> 16 notify City Staff as soon as possible. <br /> 17 C. City Manager. <br /> 18 City Manager Mornson reported the staff changes for RCM Engineering which were <br /> 19 discussed at the work session will commence at the start of the 1995 street projects which <br /> 20 should begin in May of 1995. <br /> 21 VIII. PUBLIC HEARING -None. <br /> 22 IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 23 A. Resolution 95-025.re: Contribution to a Diagnostic Study of Silver Lake. <br /> 24 Mornson indicated this study had been generated by the Apache Plaza development. The City <br /> 25 stated to the homeowners on the lake that they realized there were problems in Silver Lake. The <br /> 26 City also indicated they did not feel the City of St. Anthony was the only contributor to the <br /> 27 problem. This resulted in a meeting. It was agreed that the City of St. Anthony would contribute <br /> 28 $3,000.00 to the study with the Cities of New Brighton and Columbia Heights, each contributing <br /> 29 $3,000.00 also. The Rice Creek Watershed will contribute $5,000.00 and the Silver Lake <br /> 30 Homeowners will contribute $3,000.00. <br /> 31 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve Resolution 95-025, Authorizing the City of St. <br /> 32 Anthony's Contribution to a Diagnostic Study of Silver Lake. <br /> �3 Enrooth questioned if everyone else involved was committed to this study. <br />
