City Council.Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> August 8, 1995 <br /> Page 5 <br /> 1 Mornson indicated he would provide the Council with updates at each City Council <br /> 2 meeting. <br /> 3 Ranallo indicated it is crucial to keep to the time schedule due to the price of construction <br /> 4 this year versus next year and the interest rates. <br /> 5 Mornson reported the Cable Commission is encouraging all cities to develop a <br /> 6 telecommunication ordinance in response to the House and Senate passage of the <br /> 7 Telecommunications Bill later this year. <br /> 8 Mornson indicated the City had received information on the new Metropolitan Council <br /> 9 Livable Community Grant. He indicated a representative from the City will be attending <br /> 10 the meetings to determine if St. Anthony will qualify. He indicated he did not think St. <br /> 11 Anthony would qualify, as the City is currently fully developed. <br /> 12 Mornson indicated the budget for 1996 was complete and a copy was included in <br /> 13 Councilmember's packet. He stated this would be discussed at the work session <br /> 14 scheduled for October 3rd but encouraged anyone with questions to contact himself or <br /> 15 Roger Larson. <br /> 106 Mornson reported there would be one last piece of capitol equipment purchased this year <br /> 17 and that was a front end loader for the Public Works Department. This is included in the <br /> 18 capitol equipment budget. <br /> 19 There was Council consensus to have some type of opening celebration for American <br /> 20 Monarch. There was Council consensus to hold a special meeting to approve the bids for <br /> 21 the community center if necessary. <br /> 22 Ranallo reported the celebration at the St. Anthony Shopping Center is scheduled for <br /> 23 August 19th from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. <br /> 24 XI.
