City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • <br /> April 23, 1996 <br /> Page 4 <br /> 1 Wagner reported his attendance at a meeting of the Healthy Community/Healthy Youth <br /> 2 Task Force. He stated he would like to follow up on some of the issues discussed there at <br /> 3 a future Work Session meeting. <br /> 4 Enrooth reported he has been working on the MMRWO. They are attempting to look at a <br /> 5 joint power agreement and have created a first draft. He stated he will provide the <br /> 6 Council with more information as it becomes available. <br /> 7 Enrooth distributed the announcement of the Spring Clean-Up which will be held on May <br /> 8 4, 1996 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. <br /> 9 Marks reported the St. Anthony Orchestra will hold it's 20th Anniversary Spring <br /> 10 Celebration on May 10, 1996. The celebration will include music, a silent auction and <br /> 11 dinner. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 C. Mayor. <br /> 14 Mayor Ranallo had no report. <br /> 15 D. City Manager. <br /> City Manager Morrison reported the Fire Department Annual Report will be completed <br /> and presented to Council by Fire Chief Johnson on May 14, 1996. He reported meetings <br /> 18 will be held with the City of Falcon Heights and Lauderdale to negotiate the Police <br /> 19 Contract for 1997-98 by the end of May. The contract will then be presented to their <br /> 20 Council for consideration in early June. <br /> 21 Mornson noted the St. Anthony Police Department has been asked to assist in providing <br /> 22 extra protection at a school in Falcon Heights next Saturday where a movie starring <br /> 23 Arnold Schwarzenager will be filmed. <br /> 24 City Manager Mornson.reported Captain Jack Thoemke is one of eight police officers to <br /> 25 receive Officer of the Year Award. He is receiving the award for efforts extended when <br /> 26 gun fire was exchanged on the border of New Brighton and Fridley and St. Anthony was <br /> 27 called to assist. There was Council consensus for Staff to prepare a letter of <br /> 28 commendation. <br /> 29 VIII. PUBLIC HEARING -None. <br /> 30 IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 31 A. Resolution 96-029. re: Resolution to Enter Into Agreements with First Bank, Ste. Marie <br /> Company. and Super Valu. Inc. Regarding Apache Plaza Redevelopment. <br /> City Attorney Jerry Gilligan explained this action will authorize and execute the <br /> 34 Redevelopment Agreement and Assistance Agreement with St. Mariee Company.
