City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> May 28, 1996 <br /> Page 6 <br /> 1 Mornson noted staff will be presenting the City Council with an Action Plan as part of <br /> 2 the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act in June. This is a five year plan. He noted <br /> 3 -the Planning Commission will be presenting the Council with a-Housing Code Update. <br /> 4 Mornson reminded Council the tax increment bond sale will be on June 10, 1996. <br /> 5 Mornson reported a variance request has been received for the Roger Boney property. A <br /> 6 gas station and meat market are currently located on the site. With the proposed plan,the <br /> 7 meat market will be removed and an addition constructed which will be uniform with the <br /> 8 existing building. A canopy has been requested which will require a seven foot variance. <br /> 9 A second variance would be necessary for a parking setback. This project would also <br /> 10 require a conditional use permit. The RTC property has also been purchased to allow for <br /> 11 additional parking stalls. <br /> 12 Mornson reported most of the cooks at Apache Wells have resigned and as of June 1, <br /> 13 1996, the grill will no longer serve food. The bar will remain open and the charitable <br /> 14 gambling associations are aware of this. <br /> 15 Mornson reported Liquor Store Manager Don Perry resigned last Wednesday for personal <br /> 16 reasons. His family is relocating. He will continue employment until a new manager has <br /> been determined. An advertisement has been placed in the paper and the position will <br /> 40 remain open for the next two weeks. <br /> 19 VIII. PUBLIC HEARING -None. <br /> 20 IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 21 A. Resolution 96-040, re: Rental Lease with Aga Khan. <br /> 22 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve Resolution 96-040, allowing Aga Khan <br /> 23 Cultural Center to continue to lease space at the existing St. Anthony Village Community <br /> 24 Center on a month-to-month basis. <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 26 B. Resolution 96-.041. re: Rental Lease with Minnesota Swimming. <br /> 27 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve Resolution 96-041, allowing Minnesota <br /> 28 Swimming to continue to lease space at the existing St. Anthony Village Community <br /> 29 Center on a month-to-month basis. <br /> 30 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 31 C. Ordinance 1996-003. re: Political Signs ( 1st Reading l <br /> Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve the 1 st reading of Ordinance 1996-003, <br /> relating to political signs, amending Section 1400:08 of the St. Anthony 1993 Code of <br /> 34 Ordinances. <br />
