The Association is currently making long range plans for summer
11 activities.
12 Wagner reported his attendance at a Healthy Community/Healthy Youth meeting this morning.
13 The group is close to making arrangements for the hire of a coordinator. They are attempting to
14 hire Judy Santos, the coordinator who worked with the Southern Anoka County Consortium.
15 However, she is only available for a few hours per week. Another person from St. Anthony, who
is very willing and eager but does not have a lot of experience, will be hired to work with Ms.
1 Santos for a trial period of time. After the trial period of approximately 3 to 6 months, one or the
18 other will take over as the coordinator. Wagner reported the other Task Forces of the Healthy
19 Community/Healthy Youth are also moving forward.
20 Councilmember Enrooth reported the first meeting of the VillageFest Committee will be held on
21 January.27, 1997.
22 Councilmember Marks reported his attendance at a meeting of the Sister City Committee. On
23 January 15, 1997, Mr. Kinsey and his wife are traveling to Finland to make arrangements for the
24 Teacher Exchange Program. They will be in Salo, Finland for five days. Mr. Kinsey will be
25 attempting to resolve timing issues of the visit.
26 Marks reported the Sister City Committee is also making arrangements for the band which will
27 be visiting from Finland in approximately one year.
28 Marks reported the Sister City Committee is attempting to determine ways to raise funds to pay
29 for the expanded activities of the group. This may result in the ultimate reorganizing of the
30 Committee. They are currently investigating becoming a 501(3)(c) and looking at model
31 ordinances they have collected over the past few years.
Mayor Ranallo asked the means of funding for the Kinsey's trip to Finland.
