Councilmembers. <br /> 3 Councilmember Wagner acknowledged an invitation to a surprise birthday open house for <br /> 4 Hobie Swan on Sunday, May 18, 1997, to celebrate his 80th birthday. Wagner noted Mr. <br /> 5 Swan is a 48 year resident of St. Anthony. <br /> 6 Councilmember Enrooth arrived at 7:10 P.M. <br /> 7 Wagner reported the Dimension Report on Channel 4 television on Sunday, May 20, 1997, <br /> 8 - will discuss asset building and provide valuable information from the Search Institute. This <br /> 9 subject has been a focus of the Healthy Community/Healthy Youth organization and the <br /> 10 program will be worth watching. <br /> 11 Wagner reported the Healthy Community/Healthy Youth organization will be changing its <br /> 12 name to ACTION. This is an acronym which stands for Adults and Children Together in <br /> 13 Our Neighborhood. They will begin promotional efforts within the next two months with the <br /> 14 help of volunteers. They also are organizing a committee for fundraising. Wagner reported <br /> 15 the organization will also be in the VillageFest parade. They hope to have children and adults <br /> 16 marching in the parade. <br /> Councilmember Faust reported his attendance at Clean-Up Day. He noted it was an enjoyable <br /> experience and a valuable service that the City provides to the community. <br /> 19 Councilmember Enrooth thanked Wagner and Faust for their individual assistance at Clean-Up <br /> 20 Day. He reported the event took in over $2,000. He noted that the amount of brush collected <br /> 21 was much lower this year and attributed this to the City's chipping program. <br /> 22 Enrooth reported the VillageFest Committee will meet on May 19, 1997. They are still <br /> 23 working on the electrical aspect. <br /> 24 Mayor Ranallo noted the Chamber of Commerce will be making a donation to VillageFest <br /> 25 and is also intending to be a sponsor. <br /> 26 Wagner noted the Kiwanis will be making a donation and will provide an activity. They will <br /> 27 be unable to sponsor a pancake breakfast due to the school kitchen being remodeled. <br /> 28 Councilmember Marks reported the arrangements for the visit of the Fire Brigade Band from <br /> 29 Salo, Finland continue. This months Finnish-American Society Bulletin includes an <br /> 30 announcement in regard to the visit and the picnic. Mrs. Florence Marks will be making a <br /> 31 presentation to the Finnish Society to explain more details of the visit to them. <br /> 32 Marks then distributed a handout of information in regard to the Fire Brigade Band. He noted <br /> they will arrive on June 14 and depart on June 24. A picnic in their honor will be held at <br /> X54 Central Park on June 18. Marks asked that anyone interested in hosting a couple from <br /> 35 Finland for lunch on Father's Day, please let him know. <br />
