Seven Trees. <br /> 2 Morrison reported the Public Works Director has worked with a tree vendor and has <br /> 3 received a bid in the amount of$5,200 for removal and installation of seven trees. <br /> 4 Morrison noted he will check what type of guarantee is provided. <br /> 5 6. Flags. <br /> 6 Mornson submitted City flag designs, which were created by students at the high <br /> 7 school, for Council consideration. <br /> 8 7. Tollefson Closing. <br /> 9 Morrison reported the Tollefson closing is scheduled for the morning of May 14, 1997. <br /> 10 8. SAV 2 Update. <br /> 11 Morrison reported his attendance at a meeting today at the Dorsey and Whitney Office <br /> 12 in regard to the closing of the purchase of the Tires Plus building. He noted the <br /> 13 previous issues of access on 39th, utility easements, etc., have been resolved. A <br /> 14 provision has been added to the purchase agreement which will allow the City to be <br /> 15 released from the agreement if they reject the bids for the liquor store. Closing is <br /> 16 scheduled for June 10, 1997 which is also the last day the City could withdraw from <br /> 17 the agreement. The bids will be awarded on June 9, 1997. <br /> 08 Mornson reported the issue of drainage on Lot 4 was discussed at the meeting today. <br /> 19 Staff had been under the impression that the developer of Lot 4 would install the <br /> 20 improved drainage on that site. Staff was informed today that the cost of the <br /> 21 improved drainage will be the responsibility of the City. Morrison reported this <br /> 22 improvement will cost approximately $10,000 or less. The only matter of this issue <br /> 23 that relates to closing on the Tires Plus building is that St. Marie and OPUS will give <br /> 24 the easements to the City for future development of the drainage. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 9. North Suburban Cable Commission Grant. <br /> 27 Morrison reported St. Anthony has received $2,573.00 from North Suburban Cable <br /> 28 Commission in the form of a grant. These funds will be placed in the Cable Fund and <br /> 29 will be utilized to purchase equipment. <br /> 30 10. First Quarter Liquor Store Report. <br /> 31 Mornson reported the first quarter liquor report showed a profit of $33,652.29 <br /> 32 compared to a (9,503.56) loss from 1996. This results in a $43,155.85 improvement. <br /> 33 He noted SAV II reported a first quarter profit for the first time since 1992 and the <br /> 34 Stonehouse Restaurant is making money. <br /> 35 Council complimented and expressed their appreciation to Liquor Store Operations <br /> 36 Manager, Mike Larson and City Manager Morrison for all the work they have done to <br /> 7 improve the Liquor Operations. <br /> 8 <br /> 39 VIII.
