City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • April 14, 1998 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Cub Foods, 3930 Silver Lake Road <br /> 2 Fuel Mart Inc., 3813 Stinson Boulevard <br /> 3 Sarna's Stop -N- Save, 2400 - 37'Avenue NE <br /> 4 Voting on the motion: Ranallo, Faust, Cavanaugh, Thuesen voted aye. Marks voted naye. <br /> 5 Motion carried. <br /> 6 VI. PRESENTATION OF CLAIMS. <br /> 7 Motion by Marks, second by Thuesen to approve the following claims: <br /> 8 A. 1998 Road Project: <br /> 9 1. Springsted, Inc. in the amount of$10,763.75 for services preliminary to the <br /> 10 issuance of$725,000 General Obligation Improvement Bonds, Series 1998A. <br /> 11 B. 5 pages of Verified Claims as presented by the Finance Director. <br /> 12 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 13 VII. REPORTS. <br /> A. Councilmembers. <br /> q15 Faust reported he and City Manager had visited Senator Moe on March 27 after an article <br /> 16 appeared in the paper that there would not be a Bonding Bill. At that visit Senator Moe promised <br /> 17 there would be a Bonding Bill. Faust commended the efforts of the Storm Water Task Force, <br /> 18 City Councilmembers, Staff, and other residents involved, for their efforts and efficient process <br /> 19 which has enabled the City of St. Anthony to secure $2 million in State funding. <br /> 20 Mayor Ranallo thanked Councilmember Faust for providing the City with contacts at the <br /> 21 legislature through his involvement on the Legislative Committee of the League of Minnesota <br /> 22 Cities. He noted this had been a very helpful part of the process. <br /> 23 Thuesen expressed his appreciation to Councilmember Faust, the rest of the Council and the <br /> 24 Mayor for their efforts in gaining flood relief funding. He also thanked City Manager and Staff <br /> 25 for their hard work and the Task Force members and other citizens for their involvement. He <br /> 26 stated the end result was achieved as a result of many people's hard work. <br /> 27 Thuesen reported he will be attending a Minnesota Finance Workshop for elected officials on <br /> 28 April 23, 1998. The workshop will focus on understanding a City's financial program and City <br /> 29 Council involvement with policy decisions. He stated he looked forward to attending and felt <br /> 30 this would be beneficial to him as a policymaker when dealing with financial and budget <br /> 31 decisions. <br /> 0 Marks reported the Salo, Finland Wind Orchestra visit is fast approaching.
