City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> April 14, 1998 <br /> Page 5 <br /> 1 Mayor Ranallo reported he had received a call from a Columbia Heights resident asking why the <br /> 2 St. Anthony City Council had stated that Columbia Heights does not respond to medical calls <br /> 3 when actually they do. The resident stated that the Fire Department responds to medical calls <br /> 4 and also has an ambulance. Ranallo apologized for this error. <br /> 5 Mayor Ranallo reported that Chandler Place held an Open House last Wednesday and will be <br /> 6 holding a formal program on May 7, 1998, and the Mayor and Councilmembers will be invited. <br /> 7 Mayor Ranallo noted that this year the National Volunteer Week and State of Minnesota. <br /> 8 Volunteer Week will be held concurrently. He presented a Proclamation that the week of April <br /> 9 19 - 25, 1998 be Volunteer Recognition Week in the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 10 Motion by Marks, second by Thuesen to approve a Proclamation declaring the week of April 19 - <br /> 11 25, 1998 to be Volunteer Recognition Week in the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 12 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 13 Mayor Ranallo noted that on April 25, 1998,the St. Anthony Kiwanis and Village Gardeners are <br /> 14 planning a Clean Up Day at Trillium Park. The patrons of Quiet Water Salon have donated <br /> funds for the planting of trees at the park. Ranallo presented a Proclamation that April 25, 1998 <br /> 416 be Earth Day in St. Anthony Village. <br /> 17 Motion by Marks, second by Thuesen to approve a Proclamation declaring April 25, 1998, as <br /> 18 Earth Day in St. Anthony Village. <br /> 19 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 20 1. Asset Building. <br /> 21 Mayor Ranallo reported he and City Manager had met with the Director and two Boardmembers <br /> 22 of ACTION, and were provided with a list of ideas that could be done as a City to build assets in <br /> 23 youth. These ideas are listed in four categories including the Police Department, Fire <br /> 24 Department, Public Works Department, and the City Council. After much discussion, it was <br /> 25 determined that all departments will chose one or possibly two items in their category to expand <br /> 26 upon. <br /> 27 Mornson noted that ACTION has already recognized them for items that the departments are <br /> 28 currently doing to build assets in youth which the list does not include. <br /> 29 C.
