Gray and Son Contracting in the amount of$70,858.31 for rehabilitation and <br /> 4 recoating of existing elevated water storage tank. <br /> 5 C. 1998 Road Improvement Projects: <br /> 6 1. Rieke Carroll Muller Associates, Inc. in the amount of- <br /> 7 a. $7,304.59 for professional services rendered from June 28, 1998 to August <br /> 8 1, 1998 with regard to 1998 street improvements. <br /> 9 b. $7,135.37 for professional services rendered from June 28, 1998 to August <br /> 10 1, 1998 with-regard to 33rd Avenue-reconstruction. <br /> 11 D. Legal: <br /> 12 1. Dorsey& Whitney in the amount of: <br /> 13 a. $650.00 for legal services rendered through July 31, 1998 with regard to <br /> 14 flooding issues. <br /> 15 b. $1,046.96 for general legal services rendered through July 31, 1998. <br /> 16 E. 3 pages of Verified Claims as presented by the Finance Director. <br /> 17 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> q1VII. REPORTS. <br /> 19 A. Councilmembers. <br /> 20 Faust reported on his attendance at the North Suburban Cable Commission meeting recently to <br /> 21 discuss the addition of new nodes to increase cable capacity. He stated the meeting was <br /> 22 productive and interesting and added this initiative is moving forward at a great pace. He added <br /> 23 residents should be aware that cable companies can be held responsible for necessary repairs if <br /> 24 construction is completed on residential property. <br /> 25 Thuesen reported on his attendance at the first meeting with Community Services, which <br /> 26 provides community programs for residents of all ages. He remarked on the high numbers of <br /> 27 residents involved which will increase the strength of the program. <br /> 28 B. Ma• <br /> 29 Mayor Ranallo welcomed Dick Johnson, Ted Holston and Jay Hartman from the.St. Anthony <br /> 30 Kiwanis Club to designate St. Anthony Kiwanis Peanut Day on Friday, September 25. Mr. <br /> 31 Johnson thanked the Mayor and the Council for their support of the Kiwanis organization and <br /> 32 events such as the Peanut Day. The Kiwanis organization provides support for youth programs <br /> 33 including scholarships for youth of all ages, youth drug prevention programs, Camp Courage, <br /> 34 and Children of Families in Crisis, as well as globally providing funds for research into iodine <br /> deficiency disorder which has been the primary cause of preventable mental retardation. He <br /> is added that peanuts are an excellent source of fiber, protein and minerals, and contain no <br /> 37 cholesterol. <br />
