t CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> 3 MAY 9, 2000 <br /> 4 I. CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 5 Mayor Cavanaugh called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 6 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 7 Mayor Cavanaugh invited the Council and the audience to join in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 8 III. ROLL CALL. <br /> 9 Councilmembers present: Mayor Cavanaugh; Councilmembers Sparks, Thuesen, Horst and <br /> 10 Hodson <br /> 11 Councilmembers absent: None <br /> 12 Also present: City Manager Michael Mornson; City Attorney William Soth. <br /> 13 IV. APPROVAL OF MAY 9,2000 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING AGENDA. <br /> 14 Motion by Thuesen to approve the May 9, 2000 City Council Regular Meeting Agenda as pre- <br /> 15 sented. <br /> 16 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 0- <br /> 17 V. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br /> 18 Mayor Cavanaugh introduced Scott Tankenoff, Managing Partner of Hillcrest Development, and <br /> 19 invited him to approach the Council. Mr. Tankenoff stated that he wished to update the Council <br /> 20 on the progress of the redevelopment of Apache Plaza. But first, he distributed a recent article <br /> 21 that had appeared in City Pages which he felt provided excellent reasons for the turnaround of <br /> 22 Apache Plaza. <br /> 23 Furthermore, Mr. Tankenoff related that the purchase of Apache Plaza was progressing well and <br /> 24 he continues to be encouraged with ongoing meetings with City Staff and consultants. <br /> 25 Horst inquired about the status of the Herbergers lease. Mr. Tankenoff stated that Herbergers has <br /> 26 been approached and Hillcrest continues to work with the retailer on options. <br /> 27 Cavanaugh thanked Mr. Tankenoff for his presentation. <br /> 28 Mayor Cavanaugh introduced Sister Rosalind Gefre and invited her to address the Council. <br /> 29 Sister Rosalind stated that she would like to express interest in the Salvation Army property on <br /> 30 behalf of her Professional Massage Clinics and Schools of Professional Massage. Sister <br /> 31 Rosalind explained that her school has become too small to accommodate the number of students <br /> 32 enrolled and she would like to move the school to the Salvation Army property. Furthermore, <br /> Sister Rosalind stated that the property would remain in much the same manner, with retreats <br /> �l4 continuing and eventually she would like to consider a clinic.
