City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> May 9, 2000 <br /> • Page 3 <br /> 1 Thuesen inquired about the cost of the program. Momson responded that the cost for use of the <br /> 2 fire simulator is $450.00 for the first two hours, and $175.00 for each additional hour. Funding <br /> 3 for this year would come from the current Fire operating budget, and future funding would be re- <br /> 4 quested through the formal budgeting process. <br /> 5 Motion by Hodson to approve Resolution 00-035, wherein the City Council of the City of St. <br /> 6 Anthony hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute a contract for use of the <br /> 7 Minneapolis Fire Department Fire Training Campus to provide the ability to instruct City of St. <br /> 8 Anthony personnel.in maintaining their firefighting skills and abilities. <br /> 9 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 10 B. Resolution 00-036,re: Emergency Vehicle Preemption Systems. <br /> 11 Cavanaugh reviewed that the firm of Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH) had submitted a proposal, <br /> 12 at the Council's direction, for the design and construction services related to eight Emergency <br /> 13 Vehicle Preemption(EVP) systems within the City of St. Anthony. Mornson affirmed that the <br /> 14 City would be authorizing SEH to perform a feasibility study and the firm would return to the <br /> 15 Council with cost estimates. Additionally,'Mornson reminded the Council that $65,000 has been <br /> set out within the budget for this project, but that figure might need to be reviewed. Cavanaugh <br /> offered that there is a possibility of sharing the cost with the county. <br /> 18 Motion by Horst to approve Resolution 00-036, wherein the City Council of the City of St. <br /> 19 Anthony authorizes the engineering firm of SEH to perform design and construction services <br /> 20 related to eight EVP Systems within the City of St. Anthony, and pursuant to SEH's letter of <br /> 21 April 24, 2000, a copy of which is attached to Resolution 00-036 and made a part thereof. <br /> 22 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 23 C. Resolution 00-037, re: Future State Aid Street Allocation. <br /> 24 Motion by Horst to approve Resolution 00-037, wherein the Commissioner of Transportation be <br /> 25 and is hereby requested to approve this advance for financing approved Municipal State Aid <br /> 26 Street Projects of the City of St. Anthony in an amount up to $500,000 in accordance with <br /> 27 Minnesota Rules 8820.1500, Subparagraph 9, and to authorize repayments from the following <br /> 28 year's accruals to the Construction Account of the Municipal State Aid Street fund for said City. <br /> 29 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 30 D. Resolution 00-038, re: Use of Local Funds until MSAS funds become available. <br /> 31 Motion by Horst to approve Resolution 00-038, wherein the Commissioner of Transportation be <br /> and is hereby requested to approve this basic financing for said construction projects and to <br /> di authorize repayments from the subsequent accruals to the Construction Account of Municipal <br />
