Planning Commission Meeting - The minutes of the Planning Commission <br /> 4 Meeting of February 20, 1990 were received. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 1 . Video Update - 2510 Kenzie Terrace - Sign Variance Request <br /> 7 Commissioner Werenicz advised that the Planning Commission recommended <br /> 8 approval of the sign variance request of Video Update. He stated that <br /> 9 the Planning Commission had recommended that the small sign on the front <br /> 10 of the building be removed as well as the other stipulations on the <br /> 11 Commission's findings. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Motion by Marks, second by Ranallo to grant a variance to Craig Belisle <br /> 14 of Video Update located at 2510 Kenzie Terrace, noting that the Findings <br /> 15 are in compliance with conditions needed to grant a variance and no one <br /> 16 appeared to voice objections to the sign and the sign could be- deemed <br /> t7 necessary due to its unique siting, and furthermore$ that the lighting <br /> 18 will coincide with the hours of business and the sign on the front of <br /> 19 the building be removed. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Motion carried unanimously <br /> • 22 <br /> 23 2. Winston Company, 2837 Anthony Lane - Sign Variance Request <br /> 24 The requested thirty-two -foot sign exceeds the ordinance by <br /> �5 twelve feet. The sign will come from the former location of the Winston <br /> 26 Company. The company was requested to remove the present sign, do some <br /> �7 landscaping and berming and not have the sign lit at night. <br /> 28 <br /> �9 Motion by Enrooth, second by Ranallo to to grant a variance to the <br /> 30 Winston Company for a sign at 2837 Anthony Lane, that no one spoke <br /> 31 in opposition to the request, that the three points in the application <br /> 32 were answered affirmatively, that the present Graphics Garments sign <br /> 33 will be removed and the temporary Winston Company sign will be removed, <br /> 34 a 12 x 16 section of the fence near the fire hydrant will be removed, <br /> 35 there will be a base on the sign, the area will beb�rned and land- <br /> 36 scaped, and the sign will not be -lit. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 39 <br /> 40 An inquiry was -made regarding a third item which had appeared on the <br /> 41 Planning Commission agenda, that being; a request to amend the zoning <br /> 42 ordinance for 3301 Stinson Boulevard. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 The City Manager advised that this request had been withdrawn by Mr. Fisher, <br /> 45 the owner of the property at 3301 Stinson Boulevard. The City Manager also <br /> 46 noted that the tanks previously on the parcel had been removed several <br /> 47 years ago. Mayor Pro-tem Ranallo noted that Mr. Fisher had been advised <br /> • 48 at the first rezoning request hearing that to change the zoning back to <br /> 49 „C„- would be very difficult. The property is presently for sale. <br /> 50 <br />
