Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. <br /> 20 Motion by Marks , second by Enrooth to approve the payment in the amount <br /> 2) of $672.91 to Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. for construction services <br /> 22 for replacement of Foss Road sewage pumping station. <br /> 2-3 <br /> 24 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Councilmember Enrooth requested a status report regarding the pump station. <br /> 27 The City manager- advised - the the matter is- presently between the attorneys <br /> 28 of NuMech and the City' s attorneys. Councilmember Makowske inquired if it <br /> 29 had been determined if the engineering is acceptable. The City Manager <br /> 30 responded that the staff has not taken a position on that matter yet. <br /> 31 He advised that the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission recently installed <br /> 32 a new meter in the facility in a small "closet" area. Since that instal- <br /> 33 lation the increase in vibrations has ceased and it was speculated that <br /> 34 some of that increase may have been caused by a valve. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Councilmember Enrooth inquired if that valve may have been part of the <br /> 37 problem all along. The City Manager felt it may have been and Council - <br /> 38 member Marks observed that this would have been a reasonable explanation. <br /> 39 The life of the motor is a concern now as it was repaired not replaced . <br /> 40 Discussion continued regarding the type of valve in this project and some <br /> 41 of the internal workings of the mechanism. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 The City Manager stated that it is hoped a settlement can be reached by <br /> 44 November but there are still issues of delays and misinstal lations. <br /> 4S <br /> 46 Councilmember Makowske inquired if SEH has no culpability in this issue <br /> 47 and if payment should be authorized by the Council for this firm. She <br /> 48 felt they may not have been part of the problems being experienced. <br /> 49 <br /> • 50 The- City Attorney responded that the City Attorney had advised that SEH <br />
