He received no response to his inquiries and felt members of <br /> 2 the School Board should be more responsive to resident concerns regarding <br /> 3 the Referendum. Mr. Zellmer is supportive of a school district being con- <br /> 4 tinued in the community, but felt since passage of the Referendum would <br /> 5 result in a 30% increase in the school portion of property taxes, more <br /> G information should be made available. <br /> 8 Mayor Ranallo advised Mr. Zellmer of the manner employed by the City Council <br /> 9 to respond to resident questions presented at Council meetings. These items <br /> 10 are placed on the next Council meeting agenda with accompanying information <br /> 11 and responses. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Councilmember Wagner recalled that the School Board requires a written request <br /> 14 from a resident to be on its agenda. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 It was noted that on each Tuesday of the week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br /> 17 a member of the School Board is present in the Board Room. This time is <br /> 18 scheduled for residents to come with any questions or concerns they may <br /> 19 have regarding the School District . A calling committee is presently <br /> 20 contacting all district residents regarding the Referendum. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Mayor Ranallo requested a memo be attached to the copy of the resolution <br /> �3 being sent to the School Board . The memo should advise of Mr. Zellmer 's <br /> 24 request at the Council meeting that a public hearing be held on the Referen- <br /> 25 dum. <br /> 26 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 28 <br /> �9 10.
