Many cities like St. Anthony haves lake within <br /> 8 its boundaries. Kany of those lake& are polluted and because <br /> 9 of overbuilding in the area, Lakeshore residents are <br /> 10 experiencing problems with water in their basements. The <br /> it Mayor advised that .grant funding will be sought to conduct a <br /> 12 study of the problems. Restriction of construction in the <br /> 13 area of bodies of water may be a consideration. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Mayor Ranallo related some of the experience& he and his <br /> 16 family had while hosting a Special Olympian and her family <br /> -17 in his home. He viewed the entire experience as one which <br /> 18 all involved enjoyed and benefitted from. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 REPORT OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A . Comprehensive Plan Revision& and Corridor Study <br /> 23 The City Manager advised that a summary of the Comprehensive <br /> 24 Plan was included in the agenda packet. He noted that a <br /> 25 Citizens Committee would be used as a resource for the <br /> 26 Planning Commission. <br /> 27 <br /> _ g The City Manager reviewed his plan for the use of a <br /> 3 Planner's services. He noted that it may take about a year <br /> 30 to complete the Corridor Study . <br /> 31 <br /> 32 B. August 6th Work Seasion/National Night Out <br /> 33 The August 6th Council Work Session will start at 6:00 p.m. <br /> 34 to avoid interfering with' Counclmembers' attendance at <br /> 35 National Night Out block parties. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 38 <br /> 39 There were no public hearings. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 9. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 42 <br /> 43 A . Resolution No. 91-034; Be: Community Development block <br /> 44 Grant Subrecipient Agreement <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve Resolution No. <br /> 47 91-034 being a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City <br /> 48 Manager to execute aubrecipient agreement with Hennepin <br /> 49 County for the Urban Hennepin County Community Development <br /> 50 Block Grant Programa. <br /> 51 <br /> 52 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 53 <br /> B. Mirror Lake Spillway Improvements <br />
