• <br /> CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> RESOLUTION 92-012 <br /> A RESOLUTION URGING LEGISLATIVE ADOPTION OF A <br /> FUTURE LOCAL GOVERNMENT TRUST FUND DISTRIBUTION <br /> WHEREAS, Governor Arne Carlson has vetoed the section of the 1991 Omnibus Tax Bill <br /> which specified the growth in property tax -relief aids from the local <br /> government trust fund for calendar years 1993 and 1994; and <br /> WHEREAS, a bill to assure the integrity of the trust fund while providing good growth for <br /> city aids must be passed; and <br /> WHEREAS, said fund should not be raided to balance the state budget or to pay for non- <br /> related state general fund expenditures; and <br /> WHEREAS, despite the defeat of the attempt of the Minnesota House of Representatives <br /> to override the Governor's veto, the same aid distribution provisions from the <br /> 1991 tax bill should be used for the trust fund. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Anthony City Council hereby urges <br /> legislative adoption of a future local government trust fund distribution which dedicates the <br /> fund to city, county, and township property tax relief. <br /> Adopted this day of ) 1992. <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Reviewed for administration: <br /> City Manager <br />
