I PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> 2 NOVEMBER 17 , 1992 • <br /> 3 PAGE 4 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Commissioner Franzese indicated her interest on serving on <br /> 7 this committee but is unable to attend the November 19th <br /> 8 meeting. She requested someone on the Planning Commission <br /> 9 attend this particular meeting and bring any information <br /> 10 gotten back to the next Planning Commission Meeting. She also <br /> 11 requested that the commissioner who attends this meeting <br /> 12 specify that his attendance is only a communication tool for <br /> 13 the Planning Commission . <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Chairperson Faust indicated he felt he could deal more <br /> 16 effectively on the problems of the north end of town by not <br /> 17 serving on this committee. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 The length of service will be one year for the volunteer from <br /> 20 the Planning Commission . Commissioner Gondorchin will attend <br /> 21 the meeting on November 19th. Commissioners Franzese and <br /> 22 Murphy stated their availability to be. a "filler" on this <br /> 23 committee. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 <br /> 26 B. Redevelopment Plan - 3112 Silver Lake Road <br /> 27 <br /> 28 The St . - Anthony Housing and Redevelopment Authority is <br /> 29 requesting the Planning Commission to consider a redevelopment <br /> 30 plan for the substandard house and parcel located at 3112 <br /> 31 Silver Lake Road . <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Urbia advised that the goal of the HRA is to upgrade the <br /> 34 City' s housing stock and to retain control as to what is built <br /> 35 on any parcels acquired . This parcel may not be the best for <br /> 36 a test case he stated. It has a sixty-six foot frontage and <br /> 37 may require a variance . Many of the lots on this particular <br /> 38 block have similar frontages . <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Urbia noted that a complete inventory of the City' s housing <br /> 41 stock has not yet been done and the City Attorney has advised <br /> 42 against doing this at this time. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 The owner has indicated an interest in selling this parcel . It <br /> 45 is assessed at $49, 000 and the asking price is the same. The <br /> 46 value placed on the lot is $25, 000 and Urbia felt it could be <br /> 47 sold for considerably more. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Chairperson Faust expressed a concern with the City being in <br /> 50 the business of buying and selling of property.
