St. Anthony Police Department <br /> April 7, 1994 <br /> City of Falcon Heights <br /> Susan Hoyt <br /> City Administrator <br /> 2077 West Larpenteur <br /> Falcon Heights, MN 55113-5594 <br /> Dear Ms. Hoyt: <br /> The City of St. Anthony proposal for police service and protection in the City of Falcon <br /> Heights is enclosed with this cover letter. I want to take the opportunity to tell you a little <br /> about our department. <br /> St. Anthony Police Department is a pro-active service orientated agency with emphasis on <br /> service and community development. We are a first ring suburb of Northeast.Minneapolis <br /> and operate in two major counties (Hennepin/Ramsey). The department currently provides <br /> police service for the City of Lauderdale, since January 1, 1994. The department consists <br /> of 14 sworn officers, two civilian employees, and 10 reserve officers. We boast a higher then <br /> average clearance rate for all reported crimes. We are able to respond to any and all types <br /> of emergency calls in three minutes or less. <br /> The police department is involved in crime prevention through various programs such as <br /> Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A-R.E.) currently being taught by a police officer in <br /> the elementary school grades K-5 with the 5th grade being targeted for the core curriculum. <br /> Neighborhood Watch, Operation ID, National Nite Out,Turn Off the Violence, and Combat <br /> Auto Theft (C.A.T.) are other types of program offered and participated in by the police <br /> department. <br /> We prescribe to the latest technology and training to enhance the type of service we provide <br /> for the community and is an on-going effort in developing a partnership with the community <br /> and its needs.
