City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> September 27, 1994 <br /> Page 2 • <br /> 1 get many residents involved in this program which he feels is an important "weapon" in the <br /> 2 City's arsenal for combatting crime. <br /> 3 Judy Makowske, a aresident, stated that she was very impressed with the people working on the <br /> 4 Neighborhood Watch Committees. She has also been very impressed with things done by the <br /> 5 Village and mentioned the work the Kiwanis do. Especially noted was the support that <br /> 6 organization gives the members of the community when a family member passes away. <br /> 7 Officer Paul Davis informed that he will soon be accepting a position with the Minnesota State <br /> 8 Highway Patrol. He thanked the community for their support of the Crime Prevention programs <br /> 9 and commented that without the assistance of the community,the backing of the City Council, <br /> 10 Mayor and the Police Chief,this program could not be a success. He thanked Honeywell for <br /> 11 their efforts and assistance with materials and supplies. <br /> 12 Ron Overstreet, representing Honeywell, stated that it has been a privilege for him to be part of <br /> 13 this program. He committed to a contribution of$5000 for 1995 donated by Honeywell for the <br /> 14 Crime Prevention programs. <br /> 15 Chief Engstrom thanked Ron'Overstreet for the commitment. He then introduced Mario Romani <br /> 16 and thanked him for all of his contributions of resources for the DARE program in St. Anthony. • <br /> 17 On behalf of the City Council, Mayor Ranallo congratulated all of the volunteers. He stated that <br /> 18 he was sorry to see Officer Paul Davis leave the City's police force and expressed thanks to <br /> 19 Officer Davis and his wife for all their efforts. <br /> 20 V. LICENSES/PERMITS/PETITIONS. <br /> 21 Motion by Marks, second by Fleming to accept the following petition and approve installation of <br /> 22 the street light as proposed. <br /> 23 PETITION <br /> 24 Street Light Petition-Murray Avenue <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously., <br /> 26 VI. PRESENTATION OF CLAIMS. <br /> 27 Motion by Wagner, second by Marks to approve the following claims: <br /> 28 A. Williams/O'Brien Associates.Inc. in the amount of$7639.12 for architectural services <br /> 29 for the proposed Community Service Center. <br /> 30 B. Progressive Contractors in the amount of$13,011.40 for final payment for the 37th <br /> 31 Avenue Concrete Street Rehabilitation. • <br />
