Based on these figures, the estimated maximum potential wastewater
production is 31,963 gallons per day,as shown in the following table.
As shown on Table 6,the maximum potential wastewater production Is:
Table 6: Maximum Potential Wastewater Production Based on SAC Rates
Square Wastewater
Proposed Use SAC Rate Feet/SOats SAC Units allons/da
Retail/Grocery1/3 000 81279,000 93 25 482
Gas/ConvJWash 1/3,000 s.f. 4,200 1.4+11 3,398
plus carwash
Restoreunt 1/8 seats 90t 11.26 3,083
TOTAL 31,963
b. Describe any waste treatment methods to be used and give estimates of composition after treatmem or if the
project involves on-site sewage systems, discuss the suitability of the site conditions for such systems.
Identify receiving waters(including ground water)and estimate the impact of the discharge on the quality of
the receiving waters. (If the discharge may affect a lake consult "EAW Guidelines"about whether a
nutrient budget analysis is needed)
All wastewater will be discharged to the St.Anthony Village sanitary sewer system.
c. If wastes will be discharged into a sewer system or pretreatment system, identify the system and discuss the
ability of the system to accept the volume and composition of the wastes. Identify any improvements which
will be necessary.
The waste will be conveyed through the St.Anthony Village sanitary sewer system to Interceptor 1-
MN-302 and treated at the Pigs Eye Waste Water Treatment Plant(WWTP). The sanitary sewer
interior to the site is owned and maintained by the property owner. Sanitary waste is conveyed off-
site through two 8-Inch lines;the front of the site.and the back end of the site tap into the city sewer
below the Intersection of 39th Avenue and Silver Lake_Road and 39th Avenue and Stinson
Boulevard,respectively.
According to the St:Anthony VIIIage.Public Works Department, the sanitary sewer system has
sufficient capacity to convey the additional waste water that would likely be generated by this
proposed redevelopment. Other than improvements to the private sewer system interior to the site,
no other sanitary sewer Improvements are anticipated.
20. Ground Water-Potential for Contamination
9. Describe any of the.following site hazards to ground water and also identify them on the site map:
sinkholes;shallow limestone formations/kerst conditions;soils with high infiltration rates;abandoned or
unused wells. Describe measures to avoid dr minimize environmental problems due to any of these hazards.
The following Information Is known about potential groundwater hazards:
• No sinkholes or shallow limestone formations/karat conditions are known to exist on the site.
• According to the GoologlcAtlas of Ramsey County,"the ability of surface contaminants to enter
the bedrock formations that can serve as sources of water supply depends mainly on the
permeability and thickness'of the"overlying unconsolidated material and the depth to the water
table."
