. ain tho <br /> illa e <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, the Silver'Lake Camp has been serving the needs of the <br /> community for 75 years; and <br /> WHEREAS, every summer more than 1200 children are welcomed at <br /> the camp and over 5000 people annually attend various <br /> camps, conferences, retreats and special events; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Camp's mission is to provide children and families the . <br /> opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, develop <br /> friendships and more importantly experience a different <br /> way of life from that of the concrete jungle; and <br /> WHEREAS, many young lives are receiving the enrichment of physical, <br /> social, and spiritual tools that are so desperately needed in <br /> • today's world; that traditional delivery systems are either <br /> unavailable or constrained resources-make them <br /> unattainable; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Silver Lake Camp epitomizes the best possible <br /> experiences attendees receive during their Youth Camps, <br /> Music Camps, and the Family Camping opportunity that <br /> provides the less fortunate with often their only chance to <br /> enjoy a respite together. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Anthony Council is <br /> pleased to recognize the year of 1996 as the 75th Anniversary of the <br /> Salvation Army Silver Lake Camp's commitment and dedication to children <br /> and-to families. <br /> Mayor <br /> Date <br />
