There was Council consensus to install a sign near CUB Foods noting that the Municipal <br /> 2 Liquor Store is still open for business. <br /> 3 Mornson reported the explanation of assessment and interest rates for 1997 Street <br /> 4 Improvements were mailed on March 12th. The only response received has been inquiries as <br /> 5 to how soon the assessments can be paid off. Mornson reported pre-construction for street <br /> 6 improvements will be addressed at a meeting on April 17, 1997. Construction will begin as <br /> 7 soon as road restrictions are lifted. <br /> 8 Mornson reported the next Comprehensive Plan Update meeting will be held on March 26, <br /> 9 1997. <br /> 10 Mornson reported that all the paperwork for the Tollefson Property has been submitted to the <br /> 11 City Attorney and they are satisfied. Due to the history of the property, it will be run by the <br /> 12 title company one final time before closing. Mornson noted it is critical that the HRA <br /> 13 actively seek as much redevelopment this year as possible due to possible changes in tax <br /> 14 increment financing. <br /> 15 Mornson reported he had been asked to speak at a Government Training Seminar on March <br /> 16 21st in regard to the financing and building of the new City Hall/Community Center building. <br /> 7 He also noted the Employee Recognition Luncheon is scheduled fro April 10, 1997. <br /> 18 Mornson noted his conference schedule and tentative vacation schedule was included in the <br /> 19 Council packet. <br /> 20 There was Council consensus that the schedules were fine and also encouragement to the City <br /> 21 Manager to take two weeks consecutive vacation. <br /> 22 Mornson noted the League of Minnesota Cities annual conference was scheduled for June 10- <br /> 23 13, 1997. There was Council consensus to tentatively reschedule the June 10 City Council <br /> 24 meeting to June 9, 1997. <br /> 25 Mornson reported the Annual Fire Report will be presented to the Council at their work <br /> 26 session on April 1, 1997. <br /> 27 Mornson reported he and the Police Chief had attended a MPRS meeting. All 36 cities <br /> 28 involved have agreed to the appeal. - <br /> 29 VIII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. <br /> 30 A. Village Point, Larry Beach Construction, Inc. <br /> 31 1. Ordinance 1997-003, re: Rezone Verkins Addition (3rd Reading).. <br /> 32 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve the 3rd reading and adoption of the <br /> rezoning request for Lots 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Block 1, Verkins Addition from R-1 Single <br /> Family designation to an R-3 Townhouse designation. <br /> 35 Motion carried unanimously. <br />
