City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • April 8, 1997 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Marks reported a meeting of the Sister City Committee will be held on Saturday, April 12, <br /> 2 1997. <br /> 3 Councilmember Enrooth reported Village Fest continues to move forward. <br /> 4 B. Mayor. <br /> 5 Mayor Ranallo reported he will be attending one of a series of Town Meetings hosted by the <br /> 6 Board of Hennepin County Commissioners on April 17, 1997. He stated he has invited Mark <br /> 7 Stenglien to host a Town Meeting at the St. Anthony City Hall. <br /> 8 1. Proclamation, re: Volunteers Week. <br /> 9 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to proclaim the week of.April 13-19, 1997 to be <br /> 10 Volunteer Recognition Week in the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 11 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 12 2. Proclamation, re: Arbor Week and Month. <br /> 13 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to proclaim April 25, 1997 to be Arbor Day and <br /> 14 the month of May to be Arbor Month in the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 0 5 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 C. City Manager. <br /> 18 1. City Manager Mornson reported business at the Municipal Liquor Store is <br /> 19 improving. They have placed an advertisement on the back of CUB receipts <br /> 20 advertising Miller products. <br /> 21 2. Momson noted the St. Anthony Police Department has had a lot of media <br /> 22 attention in the City of Falcon Heights and Lauderdale because of recent cases. <br /> 23 3. 39th Avenue ME and Stinson Boulevard. <br /> 24 Mornson reported the bids for the traffic signal at 39th Avenue and Stinson Boulevard <br /> 25 will be open on May 9, 1997 and the contract will be before the Council for <br /> 26 consideration on May 13, 1997. He noted MSA will pay a certain portion of the cost <br /> 27 for the project. <br /> 28 4. OPUS/BRW Meeting - April 3, 1997 <br /> 29 Mornson reported discussion at this meeting included OPUS' vision for the rest of <br /> 30 Apache Plaza. He stated there was concern with the Park and Ride at Apache. Jay <br /> 31 Scott has noted the Park and Ride had never had a legal definition, it had just evolved. <br /> 32 There is concern as there is no room for the Park and Ride and the retailers do not <br /> 33 want it located in the parking lot. <br /> • <br /> 34 Faust noted many of the users of the Park and Ride are not from the St. Anthony area. <br />
