October 24, 1997
Michael J. Mornson, City Manager
Saint Anthony Village
3301 Silver Lake Road
St. Anthony, MN 55418-1699
Dear Mr. Mornson:
Per our conversation Tuesday evening, we are writing you
regarding the placement of a stop sign on Edward Street
at 34th Avenue. Currently, the only traffic control on
Edward Street is a yield sign on 35th Avenue (which is
often ignored) giving speeders free run on Edward from
33rd Avenue to 36th Avenue.
We have many children riding bikes and crossing the street
to the bus stop on Edward Street and have witnessed drivers
exceeding the speed limit every day. Presently, we have
tire tracks on our front lawn from a reckless driver.
® With a stop sign on Edward Street at 34th Avenue (which is
a school bus stop) , drivers will be slowed down, if not
deterred, from using our street as an expressway.
Attached, please find our neighbors ' signatures in support
of a stop sign on Edward Street at 34th Avenue:
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
GSI
Susan and Joseph Tonnell -
3413 Edward Street NE
St. Anthony Village, MN 55418
782-9332
•
