We received pre-applications for projects totaling$64.5 million dollars. There
is approximately $1.3 million dollars available for this program. As a result, it was
necessary to prioritize the types of projects that would be given additional consideration,
as well as selecting priority projects from each applicant.
The following project types are considered high priority for mitigation funding:
acquisition of floodprone homes and stormwater management projects that
reduce/eliminate flooding of homes/businesses. If you submitted a project application for
activities other than those indicated as high priority, we are unable to consider it for
funding at this time.
The applicants listed below are requested to complete a full application for the following
projects/priorities:
City of St. Anthony - / Acquisition of floodprone homes
City of St. Paul Acquisition of floodprone homes
Minneapolis Community Dev. Acquisition of floodprone homes
An application packet is enclosed. I would like to emphasize the importance of filling
out the application forms fully and completely(particularly historical damage and
benefit-cost analysis information needs). Please call Steve Prestin at 296-2007 or me if
you have questions.
Please return the completed application by December 28, 1997. We will review and
process the completed applications as they are received.
Again, thank you for your interest in the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. I look
forward to working with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at
• 612/296-0469.
Enclosure
AN EQUAL OPPORTUi IITY EMPLOYER
