Parks Commission Meeting Minutes
November 9, 1998
Page 3
Roadfelt stated the Commission had discussed equipment which would appeal to older children,
adding the playground equipment presented to the Commission to date seemed typical and
uninteresting. Jindra stated vendors had provided generic configurations.as the Commission had
not provided specific data yet, but vendors have been notified the equipment must be unique and
multi-age. Jindra reiterated she would contact Mike Mornson to
determine whether a physical survey had been ordered.,

Kost stated a public hearing might be held separately from the regular Parks Commission
meeting to give the Commission the opportunity to make decisions.

Jindra, Kosciolek, Louiselle, Roadfeldt and Wolff agreed to form a sub-committee to choose
playground equipment for Phase 1 of Central Park renovation. Kost suggested the south area of
the park might present an opportunity for community involvement through landscape and
gardening.

Kost suggested the formation at a later date of a sub-committee to address playground equipment
for Silver Point Park, adding that the two committees could work together to coordinate efforts.
He suggested the Central Park Phase 1 playground equipment sub-committee might begin by
requesting estimates for specific requirements from equipment vendors.
VII.
