f . <br /> Purchase of House on Kenzie - Insurance Concerns <br /> Mark Flaten's office recommendations: <br /> If City buys the house and rents it to former owner till April 1" <br /> The renter should maintain the following insurance coverage: <br /> 1) Renters Insurance to cover his assests. <br /> 2) Liability Insurance with $100,000 minumum <br /> a) The policy names the City as Landlord <br /> and as an additional insurer on the <br /> policy. <br /> b) Prior to cancellation of the policy <br /> the City shall receive a 30-day <br /> written notice. <br /> 3) In the lease or renters agreement, the renter is <br /> responsible and liable for all the maintenance <br /> of the property (ie: sidewalks, tree limbs, <br /> steps, driveway). <br /> a) Example - If it snows the renter is <br /> responsible to maintain the sidewalks <br /> or steps in a safe condition. <br /> b) Any liability claims will then revert to <br /> his renters policy. <br />
