The options
available to remove these homes include demolition,or selling these structures to home movers for
removal from the City.
The option to demolish the homes and remove them from the City of St. Anthony will cost approximately
$12,000-13,000 each, or$36,000-$39,000 for all three.
The option of offering the homes for sale and relocation is anticipated to cost between $9,000 to $12,000.
This cost anticipates income from the sale of the homes to range between $3,000 and $5,000 each, and a
cost to remove the foundations of$4,000 to$5,000 dollars. In addition, there will be expenses in
administering the purchase and removal of these homes.
Should the Council desire to proceed with the sale of these homes for relocation, bid documents will need
to be prepared and the sale advertised. Residents who have expressed an interest in acquiring the
contents,or portions of the structures, would be allowed to negotiate with the company or the individual
that the purchase is awarded to.
It is estimated that the difference,in cost between demolition and home moving is approximately $24,000-
$30,000, with the home sale and removal option being the least costly. We will be available at your
February 22, 2000, Council meeting to answer any of your questions, or call me at 612-277-5782.
Sincerely,
WSB&AAsssociates,Inc.
Todd E.
