These trail corridors are: Brooklyn <br /> Center/Robbinsdale Corridor; Crystal/Robbinsdale Corridor, New"Hope/Crystal/ <br /> Golden Valley Corridor;Edina/Richfield Corridor and the St. Anthony Railroad Spur. <br /> As part of theinclusion process its our understanding-that,a public comment period is <br /> being held from September 16 , 2002 to September 30, 2002. This comment period is an <br /> opportunity for the county as well as cities to express their support for adoption ofxhe <br /> '-First-Tier Trails Plan. The Park District is seeking a'letter of support from all <br /> communities and agerlcies,affected by this proposal:' <br /> The Park.District believes trail corridors included in the First-Tier Trails, Greenways and <br /> Parks Master Plan meet the criteria identified in the Recreation-Open Space Development <br /> Policy Plan such'as: - <br /> • Regional Benefits. Corridors provide connections to existing regional-facilities <br /> including Three Rivers Park District Trails and Regional Parks, the'Minneapolis <br /> Grand Round and other probable municipal transportation corridors within the first- <br /> tier area. <br /> • Local.Benefits. Corridors make connections within first-tier communities in <br /> particular to the residential neighborhood$. <br /> • Continuity. ' Corridors tack significant.barriers prohibiting development of a trail <br /> that is regional in nature. - <br /> • Consistency with City Plans. Corridors will be'developed through a coordinated <br /> effort between related cities and the Park.District. <br /> Promoting environmental stewardship through recreation and education ina natural resources-based park system <br />
