RESOLUTION 76-011 <br /> A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A STUDY <br /> OF METROPOLITAN SIGNIFICANCE <br /> WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Minnesota and various <br /> communities in the Metropolitan Twin City Area are contemplating the construction <br /> of a major sports stadium in the area <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS the Metropolitan Council ha-s been directed by the Legislature <br /> of the State of Minnesota to review all projects which have a Metropolitan Significance <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS the construction and use of a major stadium will have an impact on the <br /> Metropolitan systems of transportation and sewers <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS the use of such a stadium will have certain effects on the <br /> systems, and use and facilities in adjacent communities <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS the proposed locations at the University of Minnesota aid the <br /> Minneapolis Industrial Square site are near the City of St. Anthony and will <br /> therefore effect the land use and facilities of the City of St. Anthony, <br /> BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Council of the City of St. Anthony, Minnesota, <br /> requests that the Metropolitan Council conduct an in depth study of the Metropolitan <br /> Significance of the construction and use of any major sports complex-stadium and <br /> its location on the Metrpolitan Systems and its impact on adjacent municipalities <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to the <br /> Chairman of the Metrcpolitan Council and to the legislators representing St. Anthony <br /> and to the cities of Roseville, New Brighton and Colum#ig <br /> Adopted January 27, 1976 ATTEST:_ "C Clerk <br />
