RESOLUTION N0.76-018 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony is a cooperating municipality in the <br /> Hennepin County, "urban county" Community Development Block Grant Application; <br /> WHEREAS, St. Anthony has approved a 75 unit elderly housing project in <br /> the City and desires approval of funding for said project; <br /> WHEREAS, the inclusion of said elderly housing project in the Housing <br /> Assistance Plan makes St. Anthony not in conformance with the Metropolitan i <br /> Council 's policy that at least 60% of subsidized units be for families, the <br /> remainder for the elderly; <br /> E <br /> WHEREAS, sites which are suitable for a family development in the City <br /> are extremely limited; <br /> WHEREAS, the City is also attempting to meet the housing needs of the j <br /> elderly and families through the Section 8 existing housing program. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that* the City Council of the City of <br /> St. Anthony does hereby declare that the Metropolitan Council 's policy that <br /> at least 60% of subsidized housing in municipalities be for families poses <br /> an unreasonable burden on the City and is not consistent with good planning <br /> practices. <br /> FURTHERMORE, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony urges that <br /> the Metropolitan Council adopt a more flexible policy on family-elderly <br /> subsidized housing ratios, taking into consideration the availability of <br /> sites in a community, community size, the ability to provide public services <br /> and the availability of other necessary amenities., <br /> .Adopted: 4/27/76 A 144�� <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Clerk <br /> ty M ager <br /> Voting on the resolution: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Sundland , Stauffer, Haik <br /> Nay: None <br /> Absent: Sauer <br />
