s r j _avaT- ._._.... .. <br /> WORKSHOP <br /> "CHEMICAL AWARENESS FOR RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS" <br /> Sponsored by: St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee <br /> Rationale: <br /> If chemical use and abuse problems exists it is generally' a total community problem. <br /> Students, parents, and all citizens (-including institutions other than school) must be <br /> knowledgeable and-willing to take positive action to face a complicated and pervasive <br /> problem. Therefore, the Chemical -Abuse Information Committee will sponsor a workshop for <br /> community leaders, program directors or anyone who has responsibilities or opportunities <br /> to provide programs for already established organizations. The workshop will suggest and <br /> provide a variety of program possibilities dealing with "Chemical Awareness for Responsible <br /> Decisions". Persons may pick a program suitable to their groups time frame and personal <br /> makeup. The idea is to bring the program to already existing groups of people. <br /> Goals• <br /> 1. To have the City of St. Anthony (through the City Council and mayor) declare <br /> September, 1981 as "Chemical Awareness for Responsible Decisions" month and <br /> have as• many organizations as possible pres_ent'a suitable program on the. topic <br /> during that month. <br /> • 2. To provide an opportunity for organizations to choose suitable programming <br /> for their organization on the topic of Chemical Use/Abuse. <br /> 3. To create more community awareness by education for responsible decision and <br /> realistic changes. <br /> Workshop Dates <br /> Saturday, (probably tooX soon) <br /> Saturday May 9th my choice, Evelyn .Holthus) <br /> Weekday nig a ter Easter <br /> (Pastor Martin gone April 27-May 3) <br /> Participants: - <br /> 1. Church personnel such as Chris Ed, director or adult ed programmer or youth <br /> leader, confirmation teacher, parent group, women's group or men's group. <br /> 2. Service organization program directors, Kiwanis, Lion's Club, JC's, Mrs, JC's, <br /> 3. Senior gitiien group representative, community service and church groups. <br /> 4. Any other community groups -(get list from Community Services, .Bi-ennial Ball <br /> mailing list). <br />
