RESOLUTION 81-058 RESOLUTION RELATING TO ST. ANTHONY HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS THEREOF BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony, Minnesota (the City) as follows : Section 1. Authority. 1. 1. Pursuant to the Municipal Housing aiTO Redevelopment Act, Laws of 1947, Chapter 481, Minnesota Statutes, Sections 462. 411 et seq. (the Act) , there has been created in the City a public body corporate and politic, to be known as the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (the Authority) . 1. 2 . This council has by Resolution No. 81-051 adopted July 14 , 1981, entitled "Resolution Activating a Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of St. Anthony" (the"Resolution" ) , following a public hearing after public notice thereof was published in the official newspaper of the City once not less than ten days nor more than thirty days .prior to the date of the public hearing, found that in the City (a) substandard or deteriorated areas exist which cannot be redeveloped-- without government assistance; (b) there is a shortage of decent, safe, andsanitary dwelling accomodations in the City available to • per'sons with low incomes and their families at rentals they can afford; and (c) that there is a need for a housing and redevelop- ment authority to function in the City. Section 2 . Appointment of Commissioners. The Mayor has appointed the five members of this Council to serve as the five Commissioners of the Authority. The appointment by the Mayor of the five members of this Council is hereby approved. The terms of office of each of the Commissioners is set- to coincide with his or her term of office as a member of this Council. Each Commissioner is hereby directed to file_ a Certificate of Appointment (the "Certificates of Appointment") with the City Clerk. Section 3. Filings . The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of the Resolution and a certified copy of each Certificate of Appointment with the state housing commission, together with such other information as the state housing commission shall require.
