• RESOLUTION 83-038 A RESOLUTION ORDERING- ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW PUMPER FIRE TRUCK WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore authorized the City of St. Anthony Fire Department to participate in the Seven County Metro Area Fire Departments Joint and Cooperative Purchasing Consortium; and WHEREAS, the main purpose of. said Consortium is to achieve economies of scale that can be accomplished through cooperative and/or joint purchasing of fire department supplies and equipment; and WHEREAS, through and with four other participating fire departments (Columbia Heights , North St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights , and Rich- field) , each desiring to purchase a new fire pumper truck for their fire communities,. plans and specifications have been prepared and submitted; and WHEREAS, said plans and specifications include the following items : (1) 1250 G.P.M. ; • (2) diesel engine; (3) enclosed crew cab; (.4) 500 gallon water. tank; . (.5) cross-lays (preconnect) ; (6) full size compartments (both sides) ; (7) enclosed ladder compartment; and WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Fire Department has developed and submitted a comprehensive report detailing the need to purchase said fire apparatus to the City Council; and WHEREAS , due to the age, wear, unavailability of parts , decreasing pumping capacity, unsafe condition and various other concerns , which were detailed in the aforementioned comprehensive report, of the City ' s 1956 FWD 6982 pumper, the City Council has determined a new pumper fire truck to be a justifiable exigence and a benefit to both the Fire Department and community .
